About our Team
Em (Emma) Alaġbary
Em has spent most of her 15+ year creative career doing web, print, and brand design in her second home, Chicago. She has done work for a wide variety of industries and with people from all over the world including the US, UK, Canada, NZ, the Middle East, and Southeast Asia.
First published as a teenager in the anthology Bona Fide: 53 true Kiwi stories about life as a teen (Avocado, 2003), Em’s first loves are art and writing. Almost a decade ago Em transitioned her creative career from brand design to indie children’s books and is currently Author-Illustrator, and Designer at Little Dragon Books.
When she’s not creating professionally, you can find Em having adventures with her family, fixing villages in Minecraft, or drinking ridiculously strong cold brew. This is Em, lover of fungi, clouds and the color yellow, collector of picture books and stones.

Hana Alaġbary
Hana has been a prolific artist and story creator since she became sentient and has been teaching herself 2D animation for 5 years. In 2022, at 16 years old, she made her debut as an illustrator with Everything Sleeps.
When she isn’t creating art of some sort, Hana can be found, with headphones on and music up, studying or playing video games. This is Hana, lover of birds and watermelon, collector of everything small and shiny.
